Mount Congreve awarded over €1m additional funding under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund
Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD has announced €1,125,135 grant funding will be made available for the redevelopment and restoration of Mount Congreve Estate, in addition to €3,726,00 granted in 2019 under the Rural Regeneration & Development Fund (RRDF) and Project Ireland 2040. Woodstown Viking Site Plaque
During investigations in advance of the N25 Waterford City Bypass in 2003, an archaeological site was discovered just outside Waterford City at Woodstown. Further surveys and targeted excavation revealed the remains to be a Viking settlement known as a longphort, that dates between AD. 850–950. 10 pallets (7,200kg) of Flahavan's Porridge left Waterford last week en route to eastern Poland as a contribution to the humanitarian aid requests for assistance. FLI Group approached Flahavan's last week to purchase 5 pallets of porridge. Flahavan's very kindly offered to match our contribution free of charge. 7,200kg is made up of 4,800 x 1.5kg packs which represents roughly 150,000 meals. Waterford Suir Valley Railway has officially unveiled and launched five new storyboards on the Story of Rail at Kilmeaden Station at 3.30 o’clock.
