Newtown School is delighted to invite you to a special event at the school on:
Thursday 16th July – in Newtown School (X91 XR20) from 5pm – 6pm
As a member of Waterford Chamber, your insight into the region’s economic growth is highly valued, and the connection between education, talent development and Waterford’s future economic success will be at the heart of the evening.
The event will outline Newtown School’s plans for redevelopment and expansion – a project that is fully designed and ready to proceed, but which is currently awaiting approval to move to the tender stage. The project will deliver additional educational capacity, enhanced facilities for students with additional educational needs, and the protection of important heritage buildings on the campus.
Newtown has been educating students in Waterford since 1798 and in 2014 they made the historic move to the Free Education Scheme to become a fully inclusive school, blending students from Waterford with Boarding students from all over Ireland, Europe and world giving the students a global outlook on the world.
We are particularly pleased that economist Jim Power, a native of Waterford, will address the gathering on the factors influencing the Waterford economy and the importance of our education system in attracting investment in Ireland. (See Jim’s biography below.)
The event will bring together elected representatives, business leaders, members of the education community and supporters of the school, providing a valuable opportunity to meet and connect, and for constructive discussion on the role of education in the continued growth of Waterford and the South-East.
Light refreshments will be served.
We would be honoured if you could join us on the 16th – we greatly value your support for our school.
