In an initiative to encourage smokers to properly dispose of their cigarette butts, Waterford City and County Council recently installed ‘ballot bins’ in Waterford City, Tramore and Dungarvan. The ballot bins feature an engaging voting system that is a fun way to get people to vote by placing their cigarette butts in one of two voting slots. €40,000 combined funds presented to Waterford's Solas Cancer Support Centre
It was a momentous day for Team Sanofi on Wednesday April 26 when a cheque for over €40,000 was presented to the Solas Cancer Support Centre onsite. A group of adventurous staff volunteers raised €20,000 through an abseil event at Croke Park in Dublin on Saturday last. Services for children with autism at five local primary schools have received a New Year boost thanks to a major fundraising event staged by a team from Sanofi, the global healthcare company who employ 800 people at their biopharma and medical device site in the city. The Solas Cancer Support Centre has set out its plans for the next five years as demand for the organisation’s services continues to grow. Waterford Chamber to host South East Jobs and Skills Fair
Waterford Chamber, in partnership with Waterford City and County Council, are hosting the South East Jobs and Skills Fair on Saturday, March 4th in City Hall Waterford from 9am to 4pm. The event is free to attend and will feature pop-up stands with employers from across the region who currently have live roles and are actively recruiting. Waterford once again ranked as Ireland’s Cleanest City
Once again Waterford has emerged as Ireland’s Cleanest City in the Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) Anti-Litter League. The city ranked 12th out of 40 cities and towns and was classed as Clean to European Norms.
