Under Frank's leadership (1997-2005) Waterford Chamber grew exponentially, developed the first strategic plan, significantly increased services to members and spearheaded local, regional and national lobbying activities.
Under Frank's drive and direction, Waterford Chamber won Chamber of the Year in 2004with the chair of the judging panel, the CCI president (Mark Staunton) commenting at the time that 'there was no competition, this is an easy choice, Waterford Chamber had won by a country mile'.
The Chamber went on to the World Chamber Congress in Durban in 2005 and achieved what no other Irish chamber has achieved before or since, by winning an award under the Best Small Business Category. Also, during this period, and due to his love of trains and the railway, Frank led the establishment of the Suir Valley Railway, a social enterprise which continues to strive today.
Following his tenure at Waterford Chamber, Frank was CEO at the Clonmel Chamber and as a result of this continued success and experience, Chambers Ireland and Chamber CEOs from around Ireland readily sought Frank's advice on how to develop their own chambers.
As a result Frank's contribution to Waterford Chamber and Chambers around Ireland will forever live on. We extend our sympathies to his wife Ann and extended family at this sad time.
