Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Waterford City & County Council has prepared a proposed draft Variation No. 1 to the Waterford City and County Development Plan 2022 - 2028. The proposed draft Variation No. 1 will provide new strategies and new policy objectives to guide appropriate development as envisaged in the development plan along with limited changes to land use zoning with regard to the following elements:
1 Residentially Zoned Land Tax requests for rezoning.
2 Joint Retail Strategy (JRS) for the Waterford City Metropolitan Area.
3 Blue Green Infrastructure (BGI) Strategy for the Waterford City Metropolitan Area.
4 County Settlement Typology
5 Core Strategy Policy and Phasing
6 Regeneration and Active Land Management

The proposed draft Variation No. 1 and the respective Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Report, Appropriate Assessment Screening Report and Strategic Flood Risk Assessment Report will be available for inspection from Friday 22nd August to Friday 19th September, inclusive, at the following locations:
- Online at http://consult.waterfordcouncil.ie;
- Customer Care Office, Bailey's New Street, Waterford, X91 XH42 and Customer Care Office, Civic Offices, Davitt's Quay, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. X35 Y326 during the hours Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4pm (open through lunch).
- Online by registering on https://consult.waterfordcouncil.ie, or
- In Writing marked “Proposed Draft Variation No. 1 of the Waterford City & County Development Plan 2022 - 2028” to the Planning Department, Waterford City and County Council, Menapia Building, The Mall, Waterford City.
All submissions/observations will be made available for public viewing on the Council’s consultation portal and website, when redacting under GDPR is complete and will also form part of the statutory Chief Executive’s Report to be presented to the full Council. You are responsible for ensuring that no vexatious, libelous or confidential information, including confidential information in relation to a third party (in respect of which the third party has not, expressly, or impliedly in the circumstances, consented to its disclosure) is included in your submission.
