Cove & Co Waterford has been named Interior/DIY Store of the Year at the Elavon Retail Excellence Ireland Awards 2026. The result was announced on the night at the Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny, on Saturday 10 October.
Part of what sets Cove & Co apart is its close connection to Irish paint making. Cove & Co and Colourtrend are sister brands within General Paints Group, which has been making paint in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, since 1953. Cove & Co is the Group's retail brand, while Colourtrend is its Irish-made paint range. The Waterford store also offers Curator, made by General Paints, alongside Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and a wide selection of wallpaper.
The team's job is helping people choose well. Customers bring in swatches, tiles, fabrics, or a photo of the room, and a colour expert helps them develop a palette. The store offers free parking.
Store Manager Bryan Cogley said: "Cove & Co Waterford is incredibly proud to be named Retail Excellence Ireland Interior/DIY Store of the Year 2026, a prestigious award made possible by the dedication, creativity and passion of our in-store team and the brilliant support of our company colleagues. Most importantly, we want to express our deepest gratitude to our customers, whose trust, loyalty, and passion for beautiful homes inspire us every single day. This award belongs to all of you, and we look forward to continuing to bring your design visions to life in the years ahead."
Jen Murray, Head of Cove & Co, said: "We make paint in Ireland, and we advise on it in our own stores, and Waterford shows what that looks like at its best. This award belongs to Bryan and his team, and it's a good moment for all seven of our stores."
Cove & Co Waterford is open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm, Saturday 9am to 5:30pm and Sunday 2pm to 5pm. Colour consultations can be booked in store, at home or online at coveandco.ie.
