‘Waterford Wheels’ is a fun cycling challenge taking place during Bike Week, 10-18th May 2025.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
All you have to do is see how many cycle commutes you can make during the dates above! We’ll connect you to our online dashboard to log your cycling journeys. The organisations that log the highest numbers of cycling trips will come out on top!
WHO CAN COMPETE?
It is open to staff and students of workplaces/learning institutions across Waterford.
WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?
Participating organisations can compete to win different prizes, including a bespoke ‘Active Travel’ prize for their students/staff. Other great prizes include Cycling Ireland commuter memberships (including commuting insurance and discounts across a range of premium brands such as Garmin and Gorewear), cycling accessories, and more.

If you are a business owner, manager, or company representative, sign your place of business/learning up by contacting climateaction@waterfordcouncil.ie with the subject WATERFORD WHEELS REP. We can send you materials to help spread the word amongst your colleagues!
LAUNCH EVENT
Join us for a 30-minute opening cycle commute on May 12th, meeting at the Greenway Park & Cycle at Carriganore, Waterford City (next to SETU Arena) at 8.00am. We will cycle the greenway, getting into the city for 8.50am, with complimentary hot drinks and snacks.
