The Waterford Viking Marathon is a fantastic event, showcasing the best of Waterford city and county to visitors from around Ireland and abroad. It is a wonderful way to encourage employees to get active by entering a team to compete in the fittest company challenge.
The 2024 event is going to be the biggest event yet and we expect it to grow year on year, with additional sponsors, more participants and new additions to the route which will be going through Mount Congreve Gardens and finishing in the city centre. This year we have partnered with charities As I Am and Autism Friendly Waterford, two excellent charities supporting families and Autistic people.
The Waterford Viking Marathon will be adding an Autism friendly 10km race to the day. This event will be the first Autism friendly 10km run in Ireland and possibly in Europe. We are very excited to create this opportunity and we hope it will be the first of many.
