Waterford Chamber is excited to collaborate with the Workability Programme to support individuals with disabilities in accessing meaningful employment opportunities.

Jamie Power, the WorkAbility Programme Coordinator at Waterford Area Partnership, leads this programme dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities in entering and maintaining employment. The initiative focuses on enhancing employer capacity and promoting inclusive workplace practices.

Jamie would like to invite you to the inaugural Disability Awareness Training for Employers:

  • Date: April 9th, 2025
  • Time: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Venue: Viking Hotel, Cork Road, Waterford
This free training complements the Autism Friendly Waterford training, which has been instrumental in creating a more inclusive environment for neurodivergent individuals in Waterford. By participating in this training, employers can further enhance their understanding and support of employees with disabilities.

Amanda Fox from Autastic will conduct the training, covering:
  • Understanding various disability types
  • Recruiting, managing, and supporting employees with disabilities
  • Available government supports for employers
  • Promoting disability awareness within organisations
  • Workability Programme's assistance in recruitment
Due to limited spaces, we encourage early registration. Please RSVP by Friday, March 28th at https://forms.office.com/e/vk0YsKamDT. Alternatively, you can contact Jamie directly via email at jpower@wap.ie or by phone at 0862067840.

If you are unable to attend on April 9th, you can still register your interest via the same link to express your interest in attending future training sessions scheduled for 2025.

This collaboration aligns with Waterford's recent recognition as Ireland's first Autism-Friendly City, demonstrating our commitment to creating an inclusive community for all.
