Waterford-based renewable energy engineering company Copper Coast Renewables has been named Engineering Firm of the Year at the 2026 Engineering Excellence Awards, recognising the company’s outstanding achievements, technical expertise and continued growth in Ireland’s renewable energy sector.
The prestigious award was presented at the Engineering Excellence Awards ceremony, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry, Dublin, on Wednesday, 21 October 2026.
Founded in Waterford in 2023, Copper Coast Renewables (CCR) has quickly established itself as a trusted engineering and project delivery partner in the renewable energy industry. Specialising in commercial and utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage, grid connections and wider power infrastructure, the company works with businesses and energy developers to deliver complex renewable energy projects across Ireland.
The national recognition comes during a period of significant growth and expansion for CCR, reflecting increasing demand for its engineering expertise and project delivery capabilities.
Luke Deasy, Managing Director of Copper Coast Renewables, said, “We are absolutely delighted to receive the Engineering Firm of the Year award. To be recognised on a national level, alongside some of the country's leading engineering businesses, is a huge honour for Copper Coast Renewables.
In accepting the award, he acknowledged the collective efforts of the multi-disciplinary team at CCR, saying, “Above all, this award belongs to our team. We’re fortunate to have such a talented, hardworking and committed group of people across every area of the business. From our engineers and project managers to our site teams and office-based colleagues, everyone plays an important role in delivering the high standards of work that our clients have come to expect from us. Our growth and success over the past few years simply would not have been possible without their expertise, dedication and commitment.”
This recognition further strengthens CCR's growing reputation within the engineering and renewable energy sectors. The company holds internationally recognised ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, alongside Achilles Silver Plus accreditation and EcoVadis Platinum sustainability recognition, placing it among the top 1% of companies assessed globally by EcoVadis.
With a strong pipeline of projects and continued investment in its people, expertise and operations, Copper Coast Renewables is looking ahead to its next phase of growth, building on its Waterford roots while delivering renewable energy infrastructure across Ireland.
“As a Waterford-founded business, it is particularly rewarding to bring this national award home. We are proud of our roots in the South-East and excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to grow, create employment and contribute to Ireland's renewable energy future” said Deasy.
