South East Energy Agency (SEEA) is pleased to host the Joint National Conference 2026, delivered in collaboration under three European Union-funded projects: EU PEERS, SCEPA, and DeCarb Pro. The conference will take place on 14 May 2026 at the Ashling Hotel, Dublin.
This national event will provide a dedicated platform for dialogue on the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) Recast, with a strong focus on tackling energy poverty and accelerating progress towards climate neutrality. As Ireland and other Member States transition from policy development to implementation, the conference will explore practical solutions, key challenges, and opportunities for strengthened collaboration between European and national stakeholders.
The event will bring together approximately 100 participants, including representatives from the European Commission, the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC), the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), project partners, members of the EU PEERS Community of Practice, and professionals working across the energy and built environment sectors.
Under the theme “From Recast to Real Impact: Delivering the EPBD Recast to Tackle Energy Poverty and Reach Climate Neutrality,” the programme will combine strategic discussion with practical exchange. The morning session will feature opening remarks, project insights, keynote contributions, and a high-level panel discussion examining policy progress and implementation pathways.
Following a networking lunch, the afternoon programme will focus on interactive workshops linked to the EU PEERS, SCEPA, and DeCarb Pro projects. These workshops are designed to encourage peer exchange, collaborative learning, and discussion on how integrated renovation services, local action strategies, and decarbonisation measures can be effectively scaled and delivered.
The conference offers policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders an opportunity to share knowledge, strengthen professional networks, and contribute to shaping the next phase of EPBD Recast implementation and broader EU climate objectives.
