About Us
Michael Murphy Building Services was established in 2005 by Michael Murphy, who, having worked with several building contractors in Ireland and the UK in various roles, saw an opening for a professional construction company in the Southeast of Ireland. Following strong growth, the business was incorporated in 2016 having previously existed as a sole trader.
Despite the setback of the economic downturn between 2008 and 2015, and several years acting as a subcontractor, the company has seen strong growth in the last nine years, putting the business on a stable financial footing. Growing from one off houses to housing schemes and in recent years to complex housing / apartments and renovations and our most recent project a Boutique Hotel in the heart of Dungarvan.
The company’s core business comes from identifying development opportunities in keeping with the business plan while also tendering for suitable building and civil engineering contracts. Residential housebuilding has been at the core of the business, increasing from 6 units in 2021 to 71 residential units in 2023.
Managing multiple projects in locations throughout the south-east demands a degree of flexibility and planning that MMBS has developed through experience and lean management.
