Waterford Chamber Skillnet and Carlow Kilkenny Skillnet have announced the launch of Business Health Checker, a new collaborative programme designed to help businesses assess, understand and strengthen their overall performance through a structured, data-driven approach.
Launching on 3rd February 2026, Business Health Checker provides participating businesses with access to a bespoke digital portal that evaluates their organisation’s health across a range of key business indicators. These indicators provide valuable insights into areas such as operational effectiveness, skills capability, leadership, productivity and future readiness.
Commenting on the importance of the new programme, Aoife O’Sullivan, Head of Network Development & Innovation, Skillnet Ireland, said: “Skillnet Ireland is committed to ensuring that businesses of all sizes have the talent, skills and capabilities they need to remain competitive in a rapidly changing economy. By giving companies a clear understanding of their strengths and development needs, this innovative new programme will support businesses to build resilience, enhance performance and unlock long-term, sustainable success.”
Tommie Ryan, Network Manager, Waterford Chamber Skillnet, added: “Business Health Checker is designed to give companies, particularly SMEs, clarity and confidence as they navigate an increasingly complex business environment. By combining data-driven insight with hands-on support and access to relevant, subsidised training, we’re helping businesses take practical steps to build resilience, capability and long-term success.”
Once an initial assessment is complete, businesses are supported by their local Skillnet Business Network team, who guide them through the results in a practical and confidential setting. This supported review process helps organisations clearly identify strengths, highlight areas for improvement, and prioritise actions that will deliver meaningful impact.
Crucially, businesses can then work directly with Carlow Kilkenny Skillnet or Waterford Chamber Skillnet to address identified gaps through targeted, subsidised training and development programmes, ensuring learning interventions are closely aligned with real business needs.
The programme reflects the ongoing commitment of both Skillnet Business Networks to supporting enterprise growth, workforce development, and competitiveness across the South East and Midlands regions.
Business Health Checker will be available to member companies of Carlow Kilkenny Skillnet and Waterford Chamber Skillnet from 3rd February 2026.
