Psychosocial risks for mental and physical health are among the most serious issues facing organisations today. In addition to the effect on individual health, psychosocial risks are safety risks.

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has provided guidance for controlling those risks. The ISO 45003 global standard published in February 2021 Includes a definition of what are known as psychosocial hazards. Hazards of a psychosocial nature, that have the potential for psychological and physical harm, such as aspects of work tasks, work organisation, management, work environment and organisational conditions are referenced in the standard.

The new standard also provides guidance on how organisations can manage workplace psychological risk by identifying the primary risk factors and determining what would improve the working environment.

The online training course "Managing Psychological and Psychosocial Safety Risks at Work" takes place on Thursday, the 26th of September from 2 – 5 pm Irish Standard Time (IST, UTC+01:00). Only 15 places are available for this course, so early booking is advised.
