The Haven Hotel are delighted to announce the commencement of the construction of their new function room & events centre. This project aims to be one of the most sought-after wedding venues in the Southeast on its completion.
The Haven has a long history as a wedding venue opening its doors as a hotel in 1964 and using its ballroom for ceremonies & receptions. In 2018, a permanent marquee was erected and became the hotel’s primary function room hosting over 300 weddings between then and 2024. The marquee was also host to some amazing nights of music & gigs including Gavin James, Aslan, Lyra, Dec Pierce, Hot House Flowers & multiple others as well as some amazing tribute bands.
Plans were drawn of a state-of-the-art, subterranean function room built into the hotel’s lawns underneath where the marquee once stood. In September 2024, ground was broken on site, and building began. The aimed finishing date is April 2025, with the hotel’s wedding season kicking in in late May. The new function room will be the host of weddings, gigs, communions & confirmations, for local clubs & organisations and many other charity events. Its hope is to help revitalise tourism in the southeast & draw visitors back to the beautiful county of Waterford.
