Waterford Chamber, in partnership with Waterford City and County Council, are hosting the South East Jobs and Skills Fair on Saturday, March 4th in City Hall Waterford from 9am to 4pm.

The event is free to attend and will feature pop-up stands with employers from across the region who currently have live roles and are actively recruiting.

According to Gerald Hurley, CEO Waterford Chamber, “The idea for this is based on direct feedback from our members who wanted to see such an event happening.  Members see recruitment and retention as being one of their Top 3 challenges of doing business in 2023.

“Before Christmas, we extensively surveyed our membership and we are now acting on their requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity for employers and has the potential to have a huge return on what is a very small investment. It is also a gateway for people looking for work or considering a career change to see what’s out there in the market and secure their future here in the South East.”

Companies will have representatives on the day to speak to potential employees, take CVs and meet privately with interested parties. In addition, we are looking at hosting a number of workshops throughout the day, to include interview preparation, CV building and more.

The event has the full support of the Department of Social Protection, along with IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, Ireland South East and other regional representative bodies, who are working together to drive a stronger region.

“Waterford Local Enterprise Office have also agreed to promote the event, along with Waterford City & County Council and the other regional Local Authorities. We will also be reaching out to our wider Chamber network in the South East. It is important for the future of our city and region that job creation and success career planning remains at the top of our agenda and this event is just one step towards that,” said Mr Hurley.

Employers will be charged a nominal fee to exhibit, while the event is completely free to attend for those looking for new opportunities.
