Waterford Chamber has been shortlisted for six Chambers Ireland Awards and the category winners will be announced at a gala event on June 2nd. The awards will be presented for excellence in nine individual categories with one Chamber also taking home the award for Chamber of the Year 2022, the title which is held by Waterford Chamber for 2021.

According to Waterford Chamber CEO Gerald Hurley, “This is testament to the hard-work and commitment of the team and I am delighted to see our work recognised in this manner. Coming off the back of winning Chamber of the Year last year, this shows we continue to strive for the very best for our members and our work will continue in earnest, but today belongs to the team and I wish them every congratulations. I am particularly proud that we have been nominated in more categories than any other Chamber and this shows our strength in diversity and innovation.”

Waterford Chamber has been shortlisted for their work on Network Magazine for Best Marketing Campaign; Waterford Chamber Engineering: Making a Better World - Career Guidance Webinar for Event of the Year; Shop Waterford Support Local for Local Authority Collaboration; University of Substance for the South East for the Most Successful Policy Campaign; the Regional Leaders Programme was chosen for the Partnership for Business Category and the Waterford Green Deal was nominated in the Engagement with the Sustainable Development Goals Category.

Ian Talbot, Chief Executive of Chambers Ireland, said: “Each year, Chambers Ireland awards our member chambers who have delivered best-practice projects that have supported their members and their communities in a variety of ways.

“While the local chambers across the network span cities and towns of highly divergent scales, the challenges that exist on the ground often share the same causes even if they are expressed in different ways.

“Our annual awards are a way to help our members learn from each other’s successes and to draw inspiration from the activities of chambers from across the network.
