Like most of the rest of the world, we have watched in horror and concern what’s happening in Ukraine. Almost 1.7 million displaced people, many of whom are totally traumatized, have so far flooded into the neighbouring countries and into European Community Countries.

In Ireland’s case, we are told that we may expect tens of thousands of refugees from Ukraine to arrive on our shores. These people need our help. The first and urgent need is for accommodation. Anyone who is in a position to help with any form of accommodation, should contact the below listed organisations with your pledges of support:

The Irish Refugee Council (Phone 01 764 5854)
The Red Cross (Phone 01 642 4600)

The Irish Immigration Council may also be contacted for any immigration question or help required. Their number is 01-674 0200.
