National Women's Enterprise Day was held in Faithlegg House Hotel & Golf Club on Thursday October 13th, and all agree it was a wonderful day and night of networking, fabulous food and engaging discussion.

Helping the Local Enterprise Office celebrate National Women's Enterprise Day was an exciting panel of successful female entrepreneurs.

Those who attended heard from Kamila Bystrzonowska, owner of award winning restaurant Momo, Margaret Julian, Director of GDPR Audits and President of Network Ireland Waterford Branch, and Karen Tompkins, owner of broadcasting & media production company The Treasure Vox.

Female entrepreneurs and budding businesswomen from across Waterford were encouraged to look to the future as the theme of this year’s National Women’s Enterprise Day was “Our Future, Our Way”.

Teresanne O'Reilly, Managing Director of the Digital and Branding company TheForest.ie was MC for the day, and Frances O'Reilly of DogDry was the 'Leading Light' for this year’s NWED event.

Frances O’Reilly is the creator of Dog Dry, drying coats for dogs using an innovative design and was established in February 2021. The product has been awarded for innovation by the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland and Frances became an Enterprise Ireland client within a year of start-up.

The Lego Serious Play workshop was enjoyed by all as an innovative method to enhance business performance and introduce new skills through creative thinking and problem solving. Then following a delicious two course buffet meal, a panel discussion was held featuring all the female business speakers.

Jacqui Gaule, Senior Enterprise Development Officer at the Local Enterprise Office Waterford was delighted to hold the event in person again.

“After two longs year of virtual events we were thrilled to see everyone mixing and mingling again. The networking element of this event is so important, and we all felt we were back to normal again sharing ideas and anecdotes.
