The team at Theatre Royal Waterford are delighted (and excited!!!!) to announced that, in line with the Government’s plan for the next and final phase of our response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ticket capacity at the theatre will increase to 60% from 6th September.
In line with sectoral guidance, all audience members will be required to show their EU Digital COVID Certificate or HSE Vaccination Card on arrival at the theatre. Unvaccinated minors will be admitted to the theatre in the company of a fully vaccinated adult.
This means more tickets are now on sale for the theatre’s high-demand September shows, according to manager Mary Boland: “This is a great day for the live entertainment sector in Waterford, we are thrilled to finally be able to put more tickets on sale and welcome larger audiences as well as our wider team back to the house”, Mary commented. “Shows scheduled throughout September, including Paddy Casey, Brian Kennedy and our Live at The Royal series of gigs in association with IrishBeats, featuring up-and-coming and established Waterford bands, will all now increase in capacity. And we have no doubt, from engagement with our audiences and our artists, that these additional tickets will fly out the door. People are so excited to get back to live music, to live theatre and the prospect of filling the house with music and laughter once again is simply so exciting.”
Mary advised customers to arrive early at the theatre to allow staff time to scan their COVID-19 certificates: “Both our Stage Bar and Vestibule Bar will be open an hour before showtime and early arrival is advisable. We thank people in advance for their patience as our team work through this new requirement. And just to reassure people, face coverings are required during your visit to the theatre and we will be adhering to all of the public health behaviours to keep you, us and all our loved ones safe throughout the visit, including hand hygiene and physical distancing.”
Tickets for all Theatre Royal shows are available on www.theatreroyal.ie or from the box office on 051 874402.
