EIR, the country’s largest telecommunications provider, announced plans to expand its customer care operations at its Keane’s Road base on Monday morning last.

The expansion will create 40 new roles with additional positions to be added in the months ahead.
In 2019 eir moved its customer care department back in-house, after many years of outsourcing, creating hundreds of jobs in at its sites in Cork, Limerick and Sligo.

The move to in-house operations proved beneficial for eir’s customer care transformation, which has driven the company to expand its footprint further.

Eir has had a presence on Keane’s Road for 40 years, providing a telecommunications exchange and a centre for the South East since the early 1980s. The company is now in the process of upgrading the location to accommodate this welcome expansion.

“Monday’s announcement forms part of our overall plan for eir’s customer care transformation journey,” said Sinead O’Gorman, eir’s Managing Director of Customer Operations commented

“We have a long history in Waterford and we’re really looking forward to building on that. We believe in promoting from within and many members of our management teams have worked their way up through the business from entry-level positions so we hope prospective candidates view this as an opportunity to build a successful career with us. We are looking for energetic, customer focused, technology enthusiasts to join our growing team across, not only in Waterford but in many more locations across Ireland.”
