Responsibilities:
•Lead & participate in product & process development activities, with a strong emphasis on injection molding processes, tool design, and material selection.
•Write protocols, gather data, and perform analysis, focusing particularly on activities related to injection molding.
•Investigate and develop solutions for new and existing injection molding processes and technologies and collaborate with automation teams to define requirements for molding processes.
•Set up, qualify, and optimize injection molding equipment, ensuring efficient and high-quality production.
•Analyze data related to injection molding, providing recommendations on trends, correlations, response variables, DOE's, etc., to better understand process interdependencies.
•Participate in process capability finalization and transfer of injection molding processes to manufacturing.
•Interface with an internal cross-functional team, ensuring smooth integration of molding processes.
•Oversee & select vendors, materials, and manufacturing methods, especially those related to injection molding, to support new product/process validations.
•Draft new Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the operation of new molding equipment and execute equipment qualifications.
•Ensure product quality and all tasks align with established SOPs, GMPs, Divisional Specifications, and EHS standards.
Requirements:
•Experience: 3-7 years in Engineering, Process Development, and/or Quality Engineering setting, with significant hands-on experience in injection molding.
•Technical expertise in injection molding development environments is essential.
•ISO-9000, GMP, medical device manufacturing experience highly desired.
•Proficiency in statistical analysis within a development or manufacturing setting, especially as it pertains to injection molding.
•Experience with high-volume and/or high-precision injection molding processes is a plus.
•Special Skills: Computer Literacy with skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access, plus MiniTab, JMP (or equivalent software).
•Strong expertise in Statistical Analysis, including DOE and SPC related to molding processes.
•Excellent communication, organization, report writing, and presentation skills.
•Must be able to develop working relationships with various internal teams and work Collaboratively.
