Support Engineer

Job Description:    
Prior experience in an IT support role , with software and hardware experience would be advantageous.
The job entails working with a support team to address incidents and to restore services to clients as quickly as possible.
We are looking for a team player who has strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills to fulfil customer facing role.

 Responsibilities/ Duties:          
  • Dealing with incidents and service requests as defined by the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework. 
  • Solving problems received from a variety of users
  • Ability to convert technical information into a non-technical manner.
  • Ability to be a team player who can manage their time efficiently and prioritise or escalate technical issues to ensure a prompt closure and a good communicator.
  • Managing the life-cycle of each service request and escalating to the required line support person, if required.
  • Creating, updating and implementation of best practices.
  • Working with Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server and web server environments.
  • Investigating and supporting PC and infrastructure support issues.

Skills & Qualifications:
  •  A relevant IT qualification
  • Prior Experience in a customer service role
  • SQL (Essential)
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Self-Motivated
  • Appetite to learn quickly
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with password resets, server back-ups and fixing pc issues is a distinct advantage.
