Your new opportunity
Reporting to the O&M Engineering Manager, the Operations Engineer will have responsibility for ensuring all site operations and maintenance activities are in compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as external regulations.  This role will ensure consistency across all sites with the implementation of health, safety and environmental procedures. This role allows for a hybrid approach to working in the office and remotely from home. When in the office, you will be based in Huntstown Power Station, Dublin 11 or New Forge Lane Belfast. The successful candidate will be required to occasionally travel across locations and therefore it is essential that they hold a full, clean driving license to be considered for this role. The successful candidate must also have the capability to work at heights. Please note some site attendance will be a feature of the role.

 
Your key responsibilities and accountabilities
Day-to-day, here’s what your new role would look like:
  • Responsible for the operation, implementation & continual development of the Operational Control Systems.
  • Ensure that required H&S process is in place for all maintenance work prior to commencement.
  • Act as Emergency contact on all Operational sites in the event of an Emergency, and initiate the relevant emergency procedure. (Incident coordinator)
  • To assist with other H&S or Operational duties as required.
  • Control of work orders for routine and non-routine maintenance work. Generation of follow-up service requests
  • Project manage ad hoc projects as assigned in the O&M area.
  • Project manage planned outages across all sites and monitor progress of each.
  • Ensure all O&M activities are conducted in strict compliance with Energia Safety Rules.
  • Liaison with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with contractors and service providers, ensuring all planned work is carried out as scheduled.
  • Provide support for operational activities on site as required.
  • Training of staff on Operational Control Systems
  • Completion of monthly and technical reporting
  • Preparation of technical reports for management meetings and external stakeholders
  • Collate all site activity reports and feedback a summary and analysis to management.
  • Ensure that training records and documentation is correct and in place for site activities
Our essential criteria
These are the qualifications, experience, skills, or knowledge you must have:
  • Third level degree in the field of engineering, with 3-5 years’ experience working in similar role
  • Reporting and documentation skills with previous experience of drafting and monitoring work practices and procedures.
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Full clean drivers licence 
Our desirable criteria

  • Experience of working with electrical systems
  • Previous experience of CMMS or Asset management system (Maximo or other)
  • Experience operating to safety rules or safe system of work
  • Experience of working in the renewables field.
  • Broad based operational and technical knowledge of wind turbines (multi-platform, multi-OEM).
