Waterford Suir Valley Railway operates the Sunset Express every Thursday from 23rd June to 25th August at Kilmeadan Station. From 7pm to 7.30pm guests are invited to relax on the platform with a glass of Prosecco and strawberries while enjoying an acoustic music reception before boarding the train.
At 7.30pm they are escorted to a private carriage on the train with a picnic box full of delicious seasonal and locally produced culinary delights from award winning Grow HQ Café, Waterford to enjoy. Hear the whistle blow as the train departs on a one hour trip to Bilberry, along the banks of the River Suir and Waterford Greenway abound with glorious scenery, historic ruins, birds and wildlife. On the return journey, watch the sun dance on the river Suir as it begins to set, with the backdrop of the rolling countryside of Waterford and South Kilkenny.

The Sunset Express is the only opportunity to travel the full 10km length of the Waterford Suir Valley Track from Kilmeadan Station to Bilberry Station return. This is such a wonderful way to experience Waterford Greenway. It is very popular with groups of friends, social clubs, landmark birthdays as part of the evening celebrations. Romantic couples have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and even engagements on the Sunset Express over the years. The Sunset Express may be booked by groups on other dates. A minimum group of 20 is required.
