The "Certificate in Strategic and Operational Management" was launched today by Waterford Chamber Skillnet, Carlow Kilkenny Skillnet, and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Mobility & Supply Chain Skillnet in collaboration with South East Technological University (SETU).
The initiative will focus on several topics, including strategic management of operations, project management, leadership for improved performance, cost efficiency, energy sustainability, logistical competence, and supply chain management.
This programme is a response to the rising cost challenges faced by companies in the south east region and in particular within manufacturing, engineering and supply chain businesses.
It will aid in identifying the cost increases and facilitate devising strategies to manage and diminish them, with a focus on enhancing supply chain efficiency, transportation methods, sustainability, and streamlining processes.
In today's business climate, where costs are rising in all areas, companies need to become more efficient, especially in areas such as digitalisation and sustainability, to not just survive but thrive.
The programme will be delivered by experienced SETU lecturers who work in industry as National Programme Managers, Supply Chain Management specialists as well as leaders and lecturers in organisational change.
