The Art Hand is run by artist duo Sean and Miranda Corcoran. They opened their doors just over 10 years ago as primarily an art school. Down through the years they’ve run all kinds of workshops and events at their premises and for organisations and schools around the country. They have recently converted their art school to an art gallery.
As full-time artists the new gallery will allow Sean and Miranda to focus on creating and displaying their own art. Miranda paints directly onto the surface of glass. Her current collection includes paintings of hearts and flowers. The artworks themselves are extremely vibrant and bursting with joy. Miranda’s studio is connected to their gallery so you can view her work in progress. While her gallery paintings are in standard frames she also takes commissions that are specially created on toughened glass with custom made hardwood frames.
Sean has a new collection called 'Sand Art Wishes'. Each piece features an image of his sand art accompanied by a positive word as a source of inspiration, contemplation or solace. They are available from their gallery as wall art and as a set of Polaroid prints. The series is also available online as NFT’s for people who’d like to get them printed themselves. Sean continues to host beach art events and undertakes sand art commissions.
Their gallery has a wide choice of special gifts in stock as well as unique items for your home at a broad price range. Boxes of 22 Polaroid prints cost €22 and they have produced their own greeting cards costing €36 for a pack of 12. The wall art from the ‘Sand Art Wishes’ series cost €48 each and Miranda’s smaller paintings range in price from €60 to €140. The larger paintings on display cost up to €1200.
